Bright Cecilia - The Power of Harmony
46th Baroque Music Festival, Corona del Mar, June 21-28, 2026
Immerse yourself in the powerful impact of harmonic expression! Through programs expertly curated and led by artistic director-violinist Elizabeth Blumenstock, the Festival brings the community professional, historically-informed interpretations in five concerts over eight days on the beautiful Southern California riviera.
Friday’s chamber music night this year is centered around music by an 18th-century Italian cellist and composer who made his life in Madrid and was inspired by colorful Spanish traditions. Luigi Boccherini’s “Fandango” and E Minor Quintets for guitar and strings are partnered with Manuel Canales’s D-Major String Quartet and Catalan composer Fernando Sor’s “Introduction and Variations on Gentil Housard” for solo guitar.
